Hi. I am Lukcia Patricia Sullivan
Lukcia Patricia Sullivan, DVM
I am a Transgender-Woman, that transitioned at age 67.
I am an author of a book of poetry written during that transition.
I am a retired U.S. Army Veterinary Corps Officer. I served on active duty during the Vietnam War, Desert Storm, the Bosnia Police Action, and Iraqi-Freedom
January 1971 – July 2012
I am a retired USDA-FSIS Public health Veterinarian.
I was the State of Maine’s USDA veterinarian for 19 years.
September 1999 – September 2018
It’s been a long hard life, walking between two worlds; my secret life as a girl, and my actual life as a man with obligations, expectations, and social norms that I didn’t agree with. I did my best dealing with falling in love with men I could not tell how I felt, how I was really a girl.
I finally didn’t owe anyone anything
I only owed myself this last chance at happiness.
